Battering Intervention Program
Providing education groups for adults 18+ with battery offenses in Allegheny County Jail and in community sites in McKeesport, Coraopolis, Bethel Park and Bridgeville. A referral is required for enrollment.
Program Overview
The Battering Intervention Program is a series of 24 classes taught to male inmates in the Allegheny County Jail or in the community. The program uses the Duluth Model and is funded through a contract with the Allegheny County Jail. We work with the participants to understand the violence and abuse they have committed and how to change their behavior to prevent future occurrences.
All BIP Community classes are meeting virtually at this time. Please call or text your facilitator for instructions to join a virtual group. If you do not have your facilitator’s number please call 412 458-6455.
